The Martian
The conglomerate of News Corporation 1980-2013 owned by Rupert Murdoch - who also owns 21st Century Fox - could be used to advertise their film 'The Martian' through:
- Worldwide newspapers - The Daily Telegraph (AUS), The Fiji Times, The New York Post, The Sun (UK)
- Worldwide Magazines - GQ, Vogue, Inside Out
- Fox News radio station
- majority ownership of Brisbane Broncos rugby team - mascot/uniform/games
- Many TV studios - 20th century fox
- Fox Italy + other cable channels
- National Geographic channels
- 27% of Hulu - streaming service
- Most/all of the would have social media and websites to act as further advertising.
News Corporation was dissolved as a company in 2013 and released as a new spin-off of the company - News Corp due to a series of scandals involving hacking, misleading police, bribing a police officer and other crimes leading to over 90 arrests. The new News Corp company was a way of continuing Murdoch's companies and assets without the tarnished reputation. Murdoch is no longer to CEO of the company but remains as chairman and holds many shares. The new News Corp now owns News Uk, the New York post and 21st Century Fox.
Good; why is this level of Conglomerate good for a news media outlet, but not always great for the consumer?
